EM Press is a publisher of poetry, fiction, essays, memoirs, translations, philosophy and books on social and political issues. We publish three to four new books a year and are committed to publishing the very best authors in their respective fields.

EM Press does not accept unsolicted manuscripts.

Queries and book proposals are encouraged.

For book proposals please send a letter of query that includes your resume with a list of previous publications and the following:

Non-fiction

• A one to two-page description of the book, outlining your thesis
• An annotated table of contents (a sentence or two about each chapter)
• A sample chapter
   

Fiction

• A one page description of the book
• A sample chapter or two
   

Poetry

• A sample of no more than ten pages
   

Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) or we will be unable to respond. We have a small editorial staff and cannot take phone calls for proposals. You may contact us through email. You should receive a response to manuscripts from our staff within three months.
